This year I traveled to Ireland and spent a month in the Burren National Park in County Clare. The residency was through Burren College of Art where I was given an enormous studio with access 24/7 and lots of time to work. I walked everyday for many miles and created a body of paintings called 24 days in the Burren. I found lots of rain, beautiful terrain, unusual light and color, and very specific textural experiences. I do what I always do: look up, look down, look out, and map my way through by noticing where the old meets the new, the natural meets the synthetic.
