Uniquely designed for rising juniors and seniors in high school, College Art Admissions Consulting with Carrie Patterson is a highly-tailored program that provides individualized guidance and direction to students throughout the application process to college and university Fine Art programs.


Through a program that is personalized for each student, Carrie works with young artists as they establish their goals for college and beyond, helping them to distinguish themselves in the application process and become compelling, well-rounded, and sought-after candidates.

Carrie works closely with each student and his or her parents to:


Identify the student's college and Early career objectives


Determine the best path for achieving the student's goals moving forward


Provide practical advice, achievable targets, and concrete deliverables


Introductory call

Scheduling your Introductory Call is the first step to working with Carrie during your child's college admissions process. During the call, Carrie will help you to determine the best course of action for your student and provide you and your child with knowledgeable guidance. The $250 cost of the Introductory Call is included in the your total investment of the Consulting process and is deducted from future payments.

Success Stories

Prior to opening her current studio for private and small group lessons, Carrie founded Yellow Door Art Studios in Leonardtown, Maryland. Through Yellow Door, Carrie offered art classes and programming for all ages, meeting the need in her rural community for art training outside of the traditional K-12 educational system.

Carrie worked with hundreds of students through Yellow Door. Here are a few success stories:

  • Former students who have gone on to complete programs in illustration, animation, landscape architecture, fashion design, art education, and painting. Schools include: RISD, SCAD, MICA, and many more art programs at colleges and universities across the country;

  • Former students who have been awarded scholarships for college study.
